watsapp, whatsup, texting app

We’ve been reporting on a number of leaked changes in WhatsApp’s invite only beta on Windows Phone for awhile now, and the leaks are showing no signs of slowing down.

Now screenshots of the update have popped up on Nokiateca.net that show new ringtones have been spotted in the unreleased software. Although we can’t really confirm the authenticity of the leaked screenshot, it nevertheless shows a continuing trend for WhatsApp in pushing its development efforts for the live tiled OS. This appears to be a shot of a user’s device ringtones and not ringtones for the WhatsApp application itself. It would be most peculiar for Nokia to license its tones to WhatsApp for inclusion.

Also over the weekend, a video appeared on WPMania.com.br (via) that shows some WhatsApp beta features in motion. We’ve embedded this video below for your enjoyment.

Microsoft’s BUILD conference is coming up in April, so hopefully we’ll see a new WhatsApp update before then. If you haven’t already, you can download WhatsApp for Windows Phone right here.

Thanks to all those who sent this in!
