Skype, Skype sync issues, Skype account

We’re always up for ways to earn a little extra talk time with our loved ones and it looks like Skype users can do just that simply by using Microsoft’s Bing search engine according to a submission on SlashDot and obtained via WinBeta.

If you happen to be in Brazil, you can earn $2 of Skype credit by going to the Bing search engine for Brazil and setting it as default. The offer at the top of the page states “Resgate seus creditos de Skype agora, uma cortesia do Bing” which translates to “Redeem your Skype credits now, courtesy of Bing.” You’ll also see an “earn here” link near it that allows you to take advantage of the promotion.

Unfortunately, this won’t work if you’re outside of Brazil (we’ve tried), so it looks like the rest of us will have to wait for our own promotion (or start searching like crazy to get free calls using Bing Rewards).

Brazilians can earn up to 60 minutes of calls to mobiles and landlines in Skype. The minutes are based on a rate of $ 0.023 per minute, but the number of minutes may vary depending on the destination of the call and the number of calls you make. Once a $2 voucher has been issued, it needs to be added to a Skype account by July 31 but the Skype credit will not expire.
