Three years and one billion downloads later, LINE‘s still got it. The app is easily among the world’s most popular messaging apps and the company’s reported download numbers prove that it wasn’t just the messaging experience that users love. It’s the social interaction through LINE’s gaming platform and the apps other experiences.
As you can see from these numbers, photo editing application LINE Camera wins the crown for world’s most popular LINE family app. Other heavy hitters include LINE Pop, LINE Pokopang, and LINE Cookie Run.
All in all, it’s been an amazing three years for LINE and its team and if our recent interview with LINE Euro-Americas CEO Jeanie Han is any indication, LINE and its team are planning even more creative ways to stay ahead. Needless to say, it’ll be interesting to see how the next three years play out. For now, we’re off to enjoy another round of RunRun Hero.
