Tru VoIP App, Truphone, Voice Over IP

Tru VoIP App, Truphone, Voice Over IP

Many of you have been clamoring for more updates regarding Tru’s voice over IP application and the new version’s release date. While we don’t have a release date as of yet, we can tell you that Tru is indeed working on the shiny, new version.

In fact, Tru Labs has informed us that the application is “on track” for an “internal alpha in April.” The internal alpha stage is basically two stages before the official public release. From there, the application will hit internal beta, and then will be released to the public. The length of time the app could be in internal alpha could vary greatly, but of course we’d rather have a high quality release than a rushed release.

Tru Labs has maintained its new focus is on quality. As anyone in any business knows, especially in technology, quality is always more important than quantity. After all, Apple isn’t (almost) the world’s first $1 trillion company by releasing low-quality products. It’s great to see that Tru, too, has embraced the “quality over quantity” virtue.

We do know that Tru is set to have a “busy” second half of 2012. This could include the launch of the new VoIP app. In addition, Tru Labs has stated they will be concentrating on the iOS and Android versions first, with a possible release for Windows Phone 8 down the road.

We’ll bring you more information on the Tru VoIP App as it develops.
