Nimbuzz App, Instant Messaging Application, Free Messages

Viber isn’t the only app getting a Windows Phone 8 release; Nimbuzz has also joined the Live Tile pack with the release of its VoIP and IM app for WP8. The app was previously compatible only with WP7 phones.

Nimbuzz announced the release starting today. In addition to utilizing the platform’s unique customizable Live Tiles, the new version of Nimbuzz will also provide lock screen notifications and is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Hindi and Arabic languages.

This is a very important move for Nimbuzz, who normally focuses on its core audience of feature phone users and Android users. The release of the app on Windows Phone ensures that users who upgrade to smartphones will still be able to use the application. The importance of its release on WP8 may not be felt completely yet, but the Windows Phone market share is growing, and it makes sense for Nimbuzz to want to grow with it.

WP8 users can download the new Nimbuzz now on the Windows Phone Store.
