Truphone calling, Truphone messaging, worldwide calls

Truphone’s calling app for Android, BlackBerry 10, and iOS may not be as feature rich as some others on the market and may also still be lacking a Windows Phone version, but despite these shortcomings, there’s a lot to love about the application — including its sharp user interface and its compatibility with Truphone’s roaming service. One more thing to admire is actually a little-known feature that allows users to communicate over encrypted VoIP communication, which is essential in this day and age.

Enabling the feature is simple enough. From inside the application, tap on the three vertical dots located on the top right of the application’s home menu, as shown in the screenshot, and then tap on Settings.

From here, it’s pretty self-explanatory. Tap the toggle button for Secure VoIP to ON and you’re done. From this point on, the app will utilize secure TSL/SSL calling over WiFi “where possible.”

Keeping yourself secure while socializing with friends, family, coworkers, and clients is very important, so it’s always good to know that there are plenty of options out there that allow this functionality. Truphone, with its HD voice and newly re-enabled messaging features makes it arguably one of the best.

If you haven’t yet tried the application for yourself, Truphone is available for download on BlackBerry 10, iOS and Android devices. Let us know in the comments below or in the Forums if there are any other features you feel are overlooked.
